Both of these paintings were done in oil and are 4'x5'. In the first one, I wanted to paint a portrait without using a figure and instead show a presence in an interior scene. The second is a response to a traumatic week I spent in the hospital - I had to get a bar in my chest to correct pectus excavatum, which means "sunken in chest."
